Look Well To This Day

“Look well to this day, for it is life, the very life of life.

In it lies all the realities and verities of existence: the bliss of growth, the glory of action, splendor of beauty.

For yesterday is but a dream, and tomorrow only a vision.

But today well lived makes every yesterday a dream of happiness and every tomorrow a vision of hope.

Look well, therefore, to this day, for it and it alone is life!

Such is the salutation of the dawn.”

RIP Steve Jobs

I have had my Apple products for the last year, a comment made last night I found to be quite ironic:

"Many of you have found out about the death of Mr. Steve Jobs by a product of his imagination."  That was true for me.  While working on my Mac Mini, my iPhone lit up with the notice of Steve Jobs' death. Although I felt his death would come, soon after hearing of his resignation of his CEO post with Apple in August.  Well, he is now in a less painful place and Mr Jobs is looking over the empire he created.  Mr Jobs, if you see Apple going down the wrong path, please send them a message about how to correct the path taken!

A small tribute to Mr Jobs...

Here's to Misty...

Well, we are at it again, for another (3rd) Komen 3 Days 60 Mile Walk, this time it's Dallas in November! We have had one big fund raiser last month. Jon Fowler from the Mustang Mafia, Mustang Car Club, put together a wonderful afternoon of cars, motorcycles, friends, survivors and more to help Misty and Rayna raise funds for this years walk at a price tag of $2,300.00 a piece.  At the evening's end money donated amounted to almost $1,000.00 A BIG thank you to Jon and all that made this a labor of love and support. Fun and high temperatures (100 degrees +) were had by all!

Now somewhere before all this, while talking to Misty, she  has convinced her friend Linda to do the Komen 3 Day 60 Mile walk in Atlanta for the 1st time.  In doing so, Misty offered to help Linda train and in doing so, she helps to train herself! So here's to Misty:

This is a card for Misty for preparing for another walk, but more so helping her friend Linda to prepare her for this life altering event!  Three cheers for Misty, Linda and Rayna!

Until next time (hopefully much soon than this time :o( )

Congrats on Your Graduation Emily!

This coming Saturday May 21, 2001, a VERY special young lady friend of mine, will
graduate from high school.  Not only will Emily be graduating, but she will
graduate #16 out of 200 students and with a 6.0 GPA.

I am sooo very proud of Emily!

This story goes back approximately 16 years ago.  Emily came into my preschool 2 year old room, as a beautiful small red headed little girl. She won my heart instantly, as did her parents. Emily and her family has been intertwined with my family over the years in so many ways.  Babysitting to kid sitting. My daughter Misty helped Emily's mother Julie, to open a fabulous learning center.  Julie aids children (and now adults) to learn to retained information, to be used at a later date.  My son Joshua, was hired (with a hard working interview) to a national television show through Julie's brother Michael.
Friends???, more like extended family!

To honor Emily and her accomplishments I made a very special card just for her...

I found this "Frantic Graduate" digital stamp at Sassy Cheryl's a few of months ago and
knew it was perfect for Emily to receive.  Thanks Cheryl!!!

I used my favorite Copics  of blues for ...Emily's high school, Reitz Memorial!
The border came from a tutorial from Amazing Paper Grace, thank you Becca! Then I
added just a small bit of bling in the silver balls.  I can't wait to give Emily her card on Saturday along with one of my favorite books,  Oh The Places You'll Go .  Yes, Emily is a very special young lady, Now after her high school graduation...I will look forward to...another graduation maybe 2 and...who knows!  To the stars and beyond Emily!!

Here's to Emily's graduation...I love you!

Until next time, Debbie/Deebi27

Are You Down With a Bug?

* This blog post was to come out about 2 months ago when I was tangling with
a bad case of laryngitis!  It is now April 24th...Easter! *  Better late than never?!?

I may sound like I am down with a bug, however I just have had laryngitis for
over a week now. I am much now better that I was, but just can't seem to kick this
to the curb yet.  There has been no sore throat, fever, runny nose, cold,
sinus issue...just laryngitis! My hubby at first told me to just hush, because
he just couldn't understand me as I tried to
talk...now he just laughs at me!

Although I don't need a get well wish, I made this card for those I just might need to send one to.

Elizabeth Dulemba (a children's author/ illustrator) has a coloring page everyweek on her blog. She has them for one and all to copy and color.  Check them out at Elizabeth Dulemba . Fill in your information and here comes the coloring pages for you or your children to color.  Have fun!

Hope the yucky flu bugs don't come your way!

Until next time, Debbie (Deebi27)

The image is from Elizabeth Dulemba's coloring page this week.  I used Spellbinder's Nestibilities Classic Scalloped Ovals LG, Cuddlebug

Happy Birthday to a Very Special Lady!

My former Mother in law Irma, is celebrating her 96th birthday today and what a special lady she has always been. It didn’t matter that I felt I need a major change in my life; she was there to support me with open arms. As it is Easter and her birthday, I will have my daughter deliver my card to Irma along with a BIG hug and kiss from me!

I was going through my emails and clicked on Beate Johns' Fresh and Fun blog yesterday "Fragment Faux Tiles".  Wow, I really wanted to make it for Irma, but I was missing the Squares & Rectangles Fragments from Tim Holtz.  In all my stash of goodies, I can't believe what I needed.  I had all the fragments pieces from Tim Holtz, except the one I really needed for Irma's card.  So, I gathered up some other this and that and this is what I created for my sweet ex Mother in law!

I hope she knows how much I think of her!
Happy Birthday Irma!!!

Until next time!

Thank You for Your Inspiration

I was visiting Serendipity Vinatge Studio for the first time from Stamping Craft Gossip earlier today. Serendipity Vintage Studio, YOU have inspired me to reach
MY 100 blog postings this year...Thank you!

This past week was Valentine's Day otherwise known as Friendship Day at the
Pre-School I work at.  After the children had handed out all their Valentine's one
friend Kendall said, " I didn't pass my Valentine's out...Cooper did it 2 times."
OMG, I felt so bad :o(

Oh no, I had to think of  really quick to make Kendall feel better.     I asked
Kendall to come up to me (as the other children where putting their goodies away) and
asked her if it would be OK if I made her some special Valentine's for her to pass out
to her friends.  She loved the idea. I told her I would make them that night and they
would be ready for her in the morning.  Up late Valentine's Day night, but
this is what I came out with...

The "Friend to Friend" is from anold SU stamp set and the Dog came from "Ruff Dog"
another old SU stamp set.  I used my Atyou Spica Pens   to highlight the girl's
hats a bit and the dog's party hat and confetti.  I left the rest of the images for Kendall's
classmates to color in on their own.

On the inside I used a computer generated Happy Valentine's Day and added a open
heart (SU "Smitten" old stamp set)  for Kendall to write her name in.

Very simple, but Kendall was a very happy girl with her Valentine's Day cards and so was I!!!

Until next time, Debbie/Deebi

Starting my New Year's Resolution...

I just found this and a number of other almost posted pieces and thought I woulod share. I know I could save until nest year, here I go!

My resolution for 2011, is to be much more active in posting to this blog...

A couple of nights ago I though I better get busy.  I had not been able to exchange some holiday gifts up until now.  And of course I had to make some cards to go with the gifts...and I sat up quite late to get this accomplished.  Not having the best light to photograph, I used my iPhone with flash for the pictures.  Please excuse the thumb nail in the pictures! (he-he-he)

Santa was created with a great whimsical Santa stamp by Inkadinkado.  He and the Merry Christmas was stamped with VersaMark Watermark, embossed with Ranger Embossing Tinsel, colored with Copics and a little extra Distress Stickles in Peeled Paint and Fire Brick for Santa's holly on his hat. The Merry Christmas was from the Tim Holtz's  Retro Holliday Collection. My DP is Recollections Basic Red Dots. All was stamped on and mounted on Neenah Classic Crest -Solar White

My snowman is also from Tim Holtz's Holiday Collection. Stamped on some navy blue shimmer paper (sorry I don't have the DP info).  He was stamped with Brilliance Midnight White and embossed with Judi Kins Clear embossing Powder.  I added some Navy Spica to the unstamped areas for some extra sparkle, additional bling was added with some silver bling in assorted sizes and I hand wrote the greeting with a white ink pen.

Finally there was a very pretty sunset tonight.  I captured the sunset through our window with
the screen in...kinda nice texture look to the photo...right?

Too bad the telephone poles were in the way :o(

Well I have come to the end of my 1st blog for 2011, I certainly hope I will be more
faithful and post many, many times more...

Until next time...

Happy New Year friends!

I found this quote this weekend and I wanted to share it:

For last year's words belong to last year's language,
And next year's words await another voice,
And to make an end is to make a beginning,
TS Elliot

With this stated, a least one goal for this new year for me...to do a lot better at doing posts.

Happy New Year everyone!

Until next time,  Debbie
